From the jaws

I really hope my mom and Terry see this.  They have wheatens.  Click on the video.  The dog is pretty damn cute.

I wonder if I could have done that for Graciehead.  The only thing I don’t like about the article is the part in which the son says that he doesn’t like calling Mandy a ‘dog,’ that it seems demeaning.  Um, what?  Aside from the fact that she is a dog and there’s nothing wrong with that, I’m fairly certain she doesn’t really care what you call her.  It reminds me of the time I was calling to book a kennel for Graceface years ago and was asked, “What kind of dog is she?”  I said, “A mutt.”  [Usually I say a ‘supermutt,’ but I played it safe].  The woman corrected me, “You mean a ‘mixed breed.'”  Well, maybe, but I don’t think Gracie cares what you call her.  As long as you call her.

Kate – I hate even calling you a friend; I almost think that’s demeaning to you in a way.

Oh, that wheaten was so cute. Now I want a wheaten pup. “Mixed breed.” Hah. People are entirely ridiculous. You should see the way Jiujitsu’s roommate, treats her dog. let’s just say there are numerous of paintings of him up, and she washes his dog bowl everyday. He has his own towel in the bathroom, with his name embroidered on it. I bet he’d take it personally if he was called a dog.

I did see that clip and loved it– particularly when the dog is trying to lurch forward during the interview and both dad and son have to hold her to keep her from darting (you can kind of tell she is saying to herself “Alligator!” as in UP!) I thought the dog looked a little like Murphy because she is so big and her head is a little squarish like Murphy’s was. Don’t know if Murphy cared or Bally cares about the term “dog” but I know they didn’t/don’t think of themselves as one!
