Does anyone have anything they want to talk about? Politics? Flowers? Summer? Puppies? Children? Airplane food?
I don’t have much to report, except that (1) a robin built a nest on the light outside our back door and now we have two baby robins squeaking away! (2) our basement remodel is underway! No major work – just redecorating, but I am way excited. Stay tuned for pictures.
The Greatest Actress of Our Generation comes for a visit this weekend!
And I may have spoken to soon…The GAOOG may not be coming, afterall. Bad weather in Denver.
How does Gracie feel about the robins? Keely and a mama robin have been having a “relationship” this summer. Nest under deck = dog chasing robin, robin dive-bombing dog…. I swear that even though there are a lot birds around, Keely knew exactly which one was the one that was harassing her and very specifically watched for her and chased her.
I love the randomness of your query children to airplane food? Actually I think that on Monday, Tommy will start screening/enclosing the entryway to to my front door thus FINALLY ending the constant funnel of debris into the corner every time the wind blows. I can’t wait!
I cannot believe how hard it has been to see you in 2011! Dislike!
Baby robins! I am looking forward to the post on Basement Redo 2011.
re: Airplane food, it’s strange it barely exists anymore. I mean, you can buy sandwiches and stuff but little trays of rubbery pasta and greyish chicken with a hard roll on the side seem to be gone for good- unless of course you’re in a fancier class. So bizarre, though also nice, as I do not miss that food at all.
I’m always up for talking about puppies!
I really want a puppy. I just worry about during the day when I’m at work. Do you have a dog walker for Gracie?
I really want a puppy.
I remember the first time I ever took a plane it was to Orlando on Eastern Airlines (remember them?) which is about a two hour flight from NY, and they served us this full, hot, delicious breakfast. Eggs and bacon and toast. In coach. On a two hour flight. Crazy.
1. Gracie is totally disinterested in the robins, which makes me a little sad, but I suppose it’s better than her being dive-bombed. Although, I must say, that makes for an awfully cute picture. And I have no doubt Keely knows exactly who the culprit is! Oh, robins. Actually, ours seem to have flown the coop now…I miss them, but I suppose that’s life.
2. Jane – your new entryway sounds fabulous! I wish we had something like that. Or, at the very least, a screen door. Boo for our condo in that regard.
3. Airline food. Perhaps Raoser should tell us about her last airplane food, as she flew both business and first class on a recent (Vonage-related) trip to NYC. I was recently thinking about how Midwest Express used to give out champagne on their flights. At least I think that’s right. The last time I flew them, though, when they did such indulgent things, though, was when I was 18, so I had orange juice. It was still pretty tasty.
4. No, I do not have any recollection of Eastern Airlines, but eggs and bacon and toast sounds magnificent.
5. We do not have a dog walker for Gracie. At least not during the day. in the morning, it is AO, and in the afternoon it is usually moi. She’s not a puppy, though, so that makes a difference. I mean, she’s a total PUPPY, but not a puppy, you know? I think if you get a puppy — which I totally think you should as they make everything way better — you’d only need a dog walker in the first few months. After a few months, she should be able to hold it for a regular day. I know that some people may find this an abominable suggestion, but I really don’t. Although puppies love to be walked and petted and played with, they also like to sleep. I know Graceface is way older, but I can tell when she is like, “Are you really staying home today? Fine, but don’t expect me to entertain you; I’m tired.”
