I’m glad you asked! Etsy is the most genius internet invention ever — surpassing even Craigslist, I think. Janey, check out http://www.etsy.com and look around…What you will find is people from all over the country selling their (mostly handmade) goods. My most recent purchase was pillow covers for our couch. I had made some last summer, but they were intended for basement-viewing only. Now that the couches have left their downstairs dwelling and our featured center stage in our new living room, I wanted something nicer looking. So, I turned to Etsy. This way, I can get pretty much exactly what I want at a usually lower price than I would pay at a more familiar store and I feel good about supporting both a small business and someone’s creativity and skill. I have also bought several prints from Etsy, as well as the vinyl wall decals we used in Bear’s room (first the sheep and now a bird cage and bird) and the poms that hang above her changing table. I’ve also bought the cute owl hat Bear sports in some pictures and burp cloths. I have pretty much loved everything I have ordered and, in at least one case, I went back for more. As I said, it’s GENIUS!
I need to get my Etsy on much more often. I think we’ve discussed this but it overwhelms me a bit and I need to just get over that. I did buy Maeve some super cutie booties from a seller there when she was a little babe and was very happy with them. More Etsy for me, I say.
Here, here! More Etsy for you, more Etsy for all! I totes agree that it can be overwhelming so it’s probably best when you have an idea what you’re looking for — like, say, hats for Maeve. Or hats for twins! Krissy’s sister is having twins, everyone! TWINS!
I knew I liked her! I wish I had had a better understanding of Etsy before my wedding — I don’t know if you and Liz are buying from Etsy for wedding stuff, but I feel like there’s probably some awesome stuff out there for weddings.
Ok, I live in the hinterland, what’s Etsy?
