Introducing a new category (that probably should have started in March): toddler stuff. That’s right, folks, say sayonara to baby stuff and please give a warm welcome to the toddler years.
Bear has been saying “uh oh” for a bit now (though she doesn’t always seem to use it in appropriate situations. Like, when I set her down in her highchair. Is there really something troubling about that?), but this morning she said “ball” and guess what she was holding when she said it?! You guessed it: a ball! Oh my God. I started to cry. She really might talk someday!
Isn’t their development amazing? And exciting! I remember one time receiving a text and a picture that Kyle had eaten carrots or peas or whatever and Mike and I were absolutely blown away by that accomplishment. And then when the language began, oh my.
Congrats to M! And mom and dad, of course. 🙂 Now you’re really going to have some good stories. Please keep us posted as she starts to say things that sound like swearwords. 😉
Ha! Ohmygosh, yes. The other day I said something that would make a sailor blush (not really and I can’t remember what it was), but I thought, “Geesh (also not exactly what I thought), I need to watch myself. I think she’s actually listening to me.” Eeks.
And Jane that’s so funny about your reaction to Kyle eating. I still get fascinated by Bear eating – it’s so cool. And it’s so cool that they just get how to pick things up and put them in their mouth. I mean, when it’s cheese or puffs or an apple. Not so much when it’s the iPhone cord.
Am pretty sure she can embarass you even if she’s not trying to say a swear. “Big truck” and “Shrek” came out of Brenna’s mouth sounding like something else. And daycare thought “Bug’s Life” was Bud Light.
As if! There’s no way she would say Bud Light.
Hahahahaha- Bud Light. I love hearing about how she’s growing and changing, especially since I’m so far away. Boo. There really isn’t much cuter than a baby bear eating pieces of food. Ball!!!!!
Would have made more sense to me if she said Chardonnay. 🙂 Your girl is looking so grown up in her newest pics.
She looks grown up to me, too. Especially because as the oldest one in her class, she is so much different than the babies. When she moves classrooms in the fall, I suppose it’ll be different, but for now: holy difference six to eight months makes!
