As you know, Gracie is a rescue dog. In fact, the day we (and by “we” I mean I) agreed to foster her for a week (which turned into years as we never really heard from the rescuer again) puppy had been scheduled to get the axe that very night. So I really am sensitive to the idea that it’s way better to rescue a Gracie than it is to get your brand new puppy from a breeder, but this is just too much.
I really do think this is a great pick. We almost adopted one in Richmond. By “almost” I mean I said, upon seeing one up for adoption, “Ben, isn’t this dog adorable? What do you think?” And Ben said, “It has a rat tail, no.” Instead, Graceface walked into our lives. Graciebear, as you may know, also has an exceptionally long tail.
